Bronte Buff is a fine example of something quite rare. Bronte buff is what we refer to as a clean buff colour. Many buff coloured sandstones drift into the greyer tones or exhibit banding or veining of other colours. Not so with our Bronte Buff. Bronte is quarried in large blocks which is buff coloured through and through.
Our Bronte stone has been given its name as a nod to the Bronte Sisters who lived and worked in our neighboring village of Haworth. Haworth streets, pavements and buildings were built from similar buff sandstones and although well weathered over the centuries the warm buff undertones of the natural stone in the landscape form the picture postcard character that is
Haworth village today.
Bingley Stone's Bronte Buff is quarried from well established and well renowned stone quarry. The stone quite unique for its clean subtle buff tones.
Bronte Buff is a rare example of a buff stone that is available in large sizes due to the nature of the stone in the quarry. The quarry contains large reserves of fracture free stone enabling extraction of large blocks from the quarry.
All of Bingley Stone's sawn paving range can be produced in specific sizes, random sizes or with a specified width and random lengths. Standard thicknesses are 38mm or 50mm. as standard although other sizes can be supplied. All products are produced to order.
Bronte Buff is a stone that we recommend sealing. The pale colour and the porosity will make this stone liable to staining and frost damage if not properly sealed.
